“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
Down at SBP has been indescribable! I am continually blown away with God’s truth and greatness in my life every day. While I am waking up around 6ish and watching the sunrise and crispness of the morning and just being still, I’ve felt like God has been revealing three truths to me. Firstly, I’m the Creator of it all. Secondly, I’ve saved your soul. Lastly, I’m going to sustain your life for my Glory. First, He has created everything for us so through Creation we can take comfort and trust in Him through faith (Romans 1:20, Is.40:21-31). I’ve learned that faith is the foundation of a Christian’s walk. My new favorite quote is from a book I am reading called
The Knowledge of the Holy. It states, “what comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Hence, seeing God as Creator, Savior, and Comforter will rock your world. I’m beginning to understand what Paul meant when he said, “For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” If your faith in Christ leaves you unchanged, you don’t have the saving faith. James 2:17 states that faith without works is dead. If you have the faith, it’s accompanied with obedience and a changed lifestyle (Romans 6:4). So if you hope in the Lord, he will renew your strength so
through faith in God I will soar on wings like eagles; I will run and not grow weary, I will walk and not be faint. Notice that it does not state walk, run, soar. It’s reversed. I will soar on wings when I accept Christ; I will run the race marked out for me; lastly, I will walk in obedience in Him. God does the impossible through faith. Putting our hope in Him, we see that He does things that are impossible. We see natural weaknesses made strong. You won’t be
weary or
faint but will persevere. Therefore, faith leads to peace, peace with an assurance accompanied by boldness, a transformed mind (Romans 12:2) and one who walks in obedience. John Piper states in
Don’t Waste your Life (the SBP book for the summer), “God is most glorified in us when we our most satisfied in Him.” Peace out and “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Yeah, johnny has entered the missionary blogging world. That ole knowledge of the Holy Quote is awesome. I love that book.
So true- good word. Faith is a verb more than it is a noun. It’s not some touchy, feely, warm and fuzzy feeling that is thrown around and picked up whenever needed. Faith is lived out daily. Faith is living an ordinary life under extraoridnary means. It’s the assurance that God is the God of the small things in life just a sure as he is the God of the big things.
You are great!
It’s an encouragement and an answer to prayer. I will continue to be praying for you as God is preparing your heart.
Welcome to the blog lists. I’m your drill sergeant. Drop and give me FIVE blogs in the next week! I’ll make sure that you do or you’ll be packing your locker before long.
Um, I’m one of the odd ones here. Nice to meet you. Great post, by the way. Life-changing faith cannot be emphasized enough. Thank you very much for your insights.
God bless ya!
